Founded in the mid 90's in North America, The Society Of Professional Rope Access Technicians also referred to as SPRAT, is a member driven organization which is dedicated to the advancement of safe rope access practices through education, standards development and certification administration. 


Since 2001, thousands of rope access technicians representing dozens of companies and government agencies have been certified to SPRAT standards.

The Industrial Rope Access Trade Association, also referred to as IRATA, is the sole global trade association in the work-at-height sector. 


Founded in the late 1980's, IRATA was created as the result of an initiative by leading companies in the rope access industry, which working together developed safe work practices for the entire industry. 


With over 200 member companies, and 100,000+ technicians certified. IRATA is recognized as the leading authority for industrial rope access.
